South Main Sounds, 550 South Main Street, Memphis, TN 38103

Special hometown, full-band album release show for Kelly Hunt's new album, OZARK SYMPHONY! Memphis-raised singer-songwriter, Kelly Hunt, paints stories as old and offbeat as her Depression-era tenor banjo and parlor guitar, reimagining traditions of folk, country, and old-time music in a style that hovers beyond the constraints of genre. Hunt’s debut album, EVEN THE SPARROW, was released in May 2019 and named as a finalist for the International Folk Music Awards “Album of the Year.” Her sophomore album, OZARK SYMPHONY, (recorded with Grammy-winning musician/producer, Dirk Powell, and slated for release in Fall 2023), casts her among the ranks of modern-traditionalist songwriter/poets such as Anaïs Mitchell & Gillian Welch. Kelly is joined onstage by her long-time duo partner, Staś Heaney (violin/accordion), Pat Adams (percussion) & Marie Miller (mandolin, guitar). “Kelly Hunt sings with the lilting cadence of a folksinger born somewhere far away, sometime long ago.” — ROBERT CRAWFORD [ROLLING STONE COUNTRY] “Standing shoulder to shoulder with contemporaries like Gillian Welch and Rhiannon Giddens...folk music harking back to the stripped-down sounds of Leadbelly, Robert Johnson and Woody Guthrie.” — JOHN VAITES [AMERICANA UK]

Marie Miller will open the show and play in Kelly's ensemble as well! ABOUT MARIE: Marie Miller is a singer-songwriter and mandolin/guitar player from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. At the age of 12, she joined her family band, playing festivals and churches with her sister Justina as part of the bluegrass duo "The Miller Sisters." She has been making music professionally ever since, touring the world with her songs and recording several studio EPs and albums along the way. Over the course of her varied music career, Marie has played for Pope Francis, opened for the BackStreet Boys, toured with American Idol winner Kris Allen and singer-songwriter Five For Fighting, and had numerous songs featured on pop radio and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. “Miller's sound meshes her singer-songwriter background with poppy country vibes—almost like a combination of Shania Twain and Sara Bareilles." - BILLBOARD.COM https://www.mariemillermusic.com
